The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) is a university approved by the Ministry of Education and established in accordance with the Regulations on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools. The university is committed to building a first-class research university based in China and facing the world, and to cultivating innovative high-level talents with international vision, China tradition and social responsibility. The characteristics of running a school are the international atmosphere, the teaching environment with equal emphasis on Chinese and English, the tradition of academy system, general education, new interdisciplinary setting and student-oriented educational concept.
Since its establishment, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) has always been innovation-oriented and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area-oriented. Its research fields meet the needs of national strategic development, covering local emerging industries and future industrial development directions, including artificial intelligence and robotics, big data and data science, signal and information processing, brain-like research, biomedicine, bioinformatics, advanced materials, new electronic components, smart grid, new network, financial logistics and so on.
The school has eight colleges, namely, College of Arts, School of Business Administration, College of Education, College of Engineering, School of Law, Medical College, School of Science and Academy of Social Sciences, offering a number of major, minor and double-degree bachelor courses. In addition, the school also co-organized a number of undergraduate and master's courses with universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University and Waseda University.
