Zhong Da Hospital affiliated to Southeast University was established in 1935. Its predecessor was the Affiliated Hospital of Central University School of Medicine. It has gone through several important historical stages, such as the Affiliated Hospital of the Fifth Military Medical University, the 84th Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Railway Medical College. Many academicians, experts and scholars, such as Qi Shounan, Jiang, Zhang, Mou Shanchu, Yin, Lin He and Yang, have studied or taught here, laying a profound cultural foundation and a tradition of assiduous study and further success. After 80 years of development, it has become a large-scale comprehensive teaching hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. It is the only university affiliated hospital directly under the Ministry of Education under the key construction of the "985" and "2 1 1" projects in Jiangsu Province, and it is also the first comprehensive third-class first-class hospital in Jiangsu Province that has passed the evaluation of the Ministry of Health.
