The First Hospital of Jilin University, built in 1949, is located in Changchun City, Jilin Province. It is a large comprehensive third-class first-class hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and rehabilitation. There are two campuses with a total construction area of 549,500 square meters, more than 5,900 beds and more than 9,600 employees.
The hospital was formerly affiliated to the First Military Medical University of Chinese People's Liberation Army, and was named as the Internal Medicine Department of Changchun Medical College, the First Clinical College of Jilin Medical University and the First Clinical College of Bethune Medical University. In 2000, Bethune Medical University merged with Jilin University, and the hospital was renamed the First Hospital of Jilin University (alias: Bethune First Hospital of Jilin University).
