1. School of Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest schools in Southwest Jiaotong University. Its predecessor was the Mechanical Department of Tangshan Road and Mine School, which was founded in 19 19. Over the past century, it has cultivated a large number of well-known experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and management talents at home and abroad, especially Academician Shen Zhiyun.

2. 10 years, the college has made outstanding achievements in scientific research, teaching and academic team building. As the host unit, the College won the second prize of National Natural Science 1 item, three first prizes of national teaching achievements, and the first prize of provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological or teaching achievements 1 item respectively, and established the first national innovative research group of mechanical engineering in colleges and universities in China.
