Chengdu University of Information Science and Technology is a provincial-level undergraduate college jointly established by Sichuan Province and China Meteorological Bureau, focusing on the development of Sichuan Province. The school was founded in 195 1 year, and was transformed into central weather bureau Chengdu Meteorological School in 1956. 1978 upgraded to an undergraduate college-Chengdu Institute of Meteorology; In 2000, the school was transferred from China Meteorological Bureau to Sichuan Province and renamed as Chengdu University of Information Science and Technology.
200 1 Sichuan Statistical School, which was originally affiliated to the National Bureau of Statistics, was merged as a whole; 20 15 was renamed Chengdu University of Information Technology. The school is a national basic capacity-building engineering university in the central and western regions, the first batch of pilot universities of "excellent engineer education and training plan" in China, the first batch of "first-class discipline construction" universities in Sichuan Province, and the newly added doctoral degree-granting units in Sichuan Province.
