Hohai University, referred to as "Hehai", is located in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province. Changzhou University is located in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, a famous historical and cultural city in the south of the Yangtze River with developed economy and rich humanities. The school was founded in 1978, formerly known as Wuxi Branch and Changzhou Branch of Nanjing Institute of Chemical Technology. It is a provincial full-time undergraduate college founded at the beginning of China's reform and opening up. 198 1 was officially named Jiangsu Institute of Chemical Technology with the approval of the State Council. 1984 Jiangsu provincial people's government and sinopec group jointly run schools. 1992 officially became a subordinate college managed by China Petrochemical Group (formerly sinopec group) and was renamed Jiangsu Institute of Petrochemical Technology.
