College of Modern Science and Technology of Taiyuan University of Technology is located in xiaoyi city. Approved by the Ministry of Education and Shanxi Provincial People's Government, it is an independent college jointly established by Taiyuan University of Technology and xiaoyi city Municipal People's Government.

Based on the key construction of dominant majors and guided by social needs, the college currently offers 38 undergraduate majors and 60 majors, covering 7 disciplines including engineering, science, literature, law, economics, management and education. As of May 20 13, there are 8 full-time teachers in the college, including 3 18 associate professors and above, 287 lecturers and 62/kloc-0 doctors and masters. The college has 15 departments and 2 departments, and 13638 students.

The College is located in the south bank of xiaoyi city Shengxihu Wetland Park, with a planned total area of 1.500 mu and a total construction area of 600,000 square meters.
