The Historical Evolution of Hebei Agricultural University
1902 (in the 28th year of Guangxu), Yuan Shikai, governor of Zhili, asked Empress Dowager Cixi to approve the establishment of Zhili Agricultural School (the predecessor of Hebei Agricultural University), which was first built in Huojia Courtyard (now north of Jianhua Street Bridge). It is one of the earliest agricultural institutions of higher learning in China and the earliest agricultural university in Hebei Province.

1904 was changed to zhili higher agricultural school, which was managed by zhili Qing government department.

19 12, the school was changed to zhili public agricultural college.

192 1 In September, Cao Kun, a direct warlord stationed in Bulgaria, was ordered by the Ministry of Education of Beiyang government to merge Zhili public agricultural specialized school, medical school, law school and higher normal school to form Hebei University, the first comprehensive university in Hebei Province. The first headmaster was Cao Rui, the governor of Zhili, the younger brother of Cao Kun. At that time, Hebei University was mainly engaged in agriculture, and its majors were forestry, agronomy and horticulture, with a four-year academic system.

193 1 after the dissolution of Hebei university, the provincial agricultural college still runs independently. In the north of the original campus (now Xuefu Hutong), another college gate was built, which is located in the south and north directions and divided into two roads.

1June, 958, with the approval of the provincial party Committee, Hebei Agricultural College was renamed as Hebei Agricultural University. In July, the General Office of the Provincial Party Committee decided to move the former site of Xixiaguan Provincial Agricultural College to Hebei Agricultural University.

1966, Hebei University moved from Tianjin.

1In August, 975, Hebei Revolutionary Committee instructed to learn from the experience of Chaoyang Agricultural College and move the school to the countryside. Hebei Agricultural University moved its headquarters to Niu Shan, Huolu County, Shijiazhuang area. The school was named the General School of Revolutionary Committee of Hebei Agricultural University, and its site was built on a hillside. The school is divided into five parts, which are located in Qianmotou in Hengshui area, Yongnian County in Handan area, Changli County in Tangshan area and Cangzhou Water Conservancy College.

1988 merged with Hebei forestry college, and expanded and built the west campus on the basis of the original campus of forestry college.
