Scientific research is the fundamental way to improve the academic level, the quality and level of personnel training, an important means to improve the level of education and teaching, and an important support to achieve the goal of discipline construction. Therefore, our college attaches great importance to scientific research. In scientific research, we should base ourselves on Chongqing and face the southwest, emancipate our minds, seek truth from facts, keep pace with the times, and actively participate in the mainstream of national economic construction and social development.

Since 2000, it has undertaken 25 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, 3 projects of the National Social Science Foundation, 35 national projects and 55 provincial and ministerial projects, with a total of 128 projects, and the annual research funding is 8 million yuan. 780 papers have been published, 420 papers in discipline-level and core journals, 56 papers in three major search, more than 80 papers in international conferences and more than 50 papers in domestic conferences/kloc-0; Published works: Editor-in-chief, participated in editing and publishing 26 monographs and teaching materials.

These research results are closely related to local reality, and provide scientific basis for local economic construction planning and decision-making in terms of resources and environment, regional planning, development strategy, disaster prevention, land consolidation, resource utilization, and major project demonstration. After the implementation of many plans, remarkable economic, social and ecological benefits have been achieved, which has played a positive role in local economic development and poverty-stricken areas getting rid of poverty.
