History of Qingdao Daxue Road
Daxue Road was built after Germany occupied Qingdao. A modern road was paved along the Qingdao River, and a stone bridge was built at the intersection of Huangxian County today, which extended the road to the north and was named Ospas Street. But Qingdao people call it Dongguan Street. Since ancient times, the streams and springs in the mountains of Qingdao have merged into the Qingdao River and flowed into the Yellow Sea, feeding Qingdao Village (fishing village) and Qingdao Port (port), which became increasingly prosperous in the late Qing Dynasty. Especially in 189 1 year, after the establishment of the yamen on the west side of Qingdao River (now the People's Hall), it gradually became a town; Hedong is also a fishing village, and there is a wooden bridge connecting the two banks on Yushan Road and Longkou Road today. Locals call this Muqiao area and the area along the Qingdao River Dongguan Street.

German colonial authorities changed Qingdao Mountain to Bismarck Mountain and set up Bismarck Barracks at the foot of the mountain. During the Japanese occupation, Ospas Street was changed to the south section of Xunmachi, and Bismarck Barracks were changed to Wannian Barracks in an attempt to permanently occupy Qingdao. After the Beiyang government recovered Qingdao, it set up a private Qingdao University in this military camp in 1924. The road in front of the university is called University Road, which is also the only road named after the university in Qingdao. 1930 Shandong university moved from Jinan and merged with it to form the national Shandong university; During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, Shandong University moved to Sichuan; After War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory, he resumed his studies in Qingdao. 1958 After Shandong University moved back to Jinan, 1959 Shandong Ocean University was established in its original site, and 1985 was renamed Qingdao Ocean University. Outside the western wall is daxue road.

At the end of University Road outside the wall of Qingdao Yucai Middle School today, there is a Qingdao entrance. At that time, there was a dock with many merchant ships and prosperous shipping, which was also called Qingdao's three major seaports with Jinkou and Nvgukou. On the east side of Daxue Road, there is the Hongwan (homophonic) site in Qingdao, which was built in 1935, also known as the Academy, and is now the Qingdao Museum. On the west side of daxue road, there is a small courtyard building, which is patchwork, shaded by vegetation and quiet. The southernmost yamen of the company commanders, followed by 1906, is the naval barracks and Dong Wen Academy. After liberation, it was the school building of Qingdao No.2 Middle School, and the People's Hall was built after 1959. Several poplars and ginkgo trees next to the People's Hall are the remains of that year. University Road has basically retained the characteristics of quiet, clean and cool, and is moving towards building a green avenue.

The university route connects Longkou Road, Yushan Road, Huangxian Road, Huashan Road and Xian Ye Road from south to north. On both sides are Chinese and western residential buildings; Along the road are Qingdao Yucai Middle School, People's Hall, Oriental Hotel, Qingdao Urban Construction Archives, Qingdao Museum, Daxue Road Primary School and Qingdao Ocean University.
