Tongda began to trace back to 19 12 private Nantong Medical College and Nantong Textile Institute. In May 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology and Nantong Normal University established Tongda in English. Tongda covers a total area of more than 3,700 mu, and the library has more than 2.8 million books. There are nearly 40,000 full-time undergraduate graduates, more than 2,700 master students and more than 750 foreign students.
At present, there are 4 branches, 23 schools, 1 independent colleges, 1 large and medium-sized comprehensive first-class affiliated hospitals, and 100 undergraduate majors, including "literature, science, engineering, medicine, design, social economy, law, education, history department and enterprise management". Tongda has three first-class doctoral degree programs, 22 first-class master degree programs and 10 master degree programs, among which "clinical medicine, cognitive science and behavioral psychology, and water conservancy engineering" are Tongda's trump cards.
Nantong University was originally a private Nantong College of Medicine and a private Nantong Textile Institute founded by 19 12. By 2004, the former Nantong Medical College, Nantong Institute of Technology and Nantong Normal University merged to form a new Nantong University. Both medical and normal majors in colleges and universities are hot topics at this stage. In fact, the engineering major of Nantong University is not small.
