Capec is one of the most active figures in Czech literature in the early 20th century. Deeply influenced by western philosophy and literature, 19 13 began to translate the works of French modernist poets, such as Good Literature by Apollinaire. 19 17- 1920 and 192 1- 1938, who worked in the editorial department of National Newspaper and People's Newspaper successively; 192 1- 1923 used to be a screenwriter and director of Wino Castle Theatre. After the First World War, he went to many countries, wrote letters from Italy, wrote letters from England, went to Spain, a country of pasture and made a trip to the north. During 1924, he became bosom friends with Czech President masaryk, wrote books to publicize masaryk's philosophy and political views, and wrote memoirs. 1935, Capec declined the proposal of British writer herbert george wells to let him take over as the president of the International PEN, and attended the World Writers' Conference for the Defence of Culture held in Paris. Since then, he has actively participated in the debate in the literary world, and once debated with the famous literary artist F. Shadat and party member writer Neumann on the relationship between writers and the state and the function of literature. He is a progressive writer. Some of his works, such as prose "Deep Tan in Ming Dynasty", "The Garden of Kraknosh Mountain" and drama "The Life of Insects", have distinct themes and severely criticized the social ills at that time.
Since the 1920s, Capec has created many sci-fi works with illusory and symbolic modernist techniques, such as the drama Russell's Universal Robot, the novel Autocratic Factory, Atomic Fantasy, short story collection The Story in the First Pocket and The Story in the Second Pocket. He exposes and satirizes the ugly phenomenon in social life through some physical objects or some fantasy images in his works, and points out that the great progress of science and technology will lead to the destruction of the whole human world; Science must serve the people. He created the world term "robot", and his prediction about human mastering atomic energy became a reality. Therefore, his works enjoy a high reputation in the international literary world.
In the mid-1930s, fascism raged all over Europe. Great changes have taken place in Capec's thought, and he devoted himself to the anti-fascist struggle. During this period, he wrote four masterpieces: The Giant Fish Chaos and The First Rescue Team by fantasy novel; Scripts "White Disease" and "Mother". In these works, he used realism and illusory and symbolic modern techniques to praise the United struggle of the working class and show the anti-fascist fighting spirit.
Capec has won four national prizes, 1923, 1924, 1928 and 1937, and is one of the writers who occupy an important position in the history of Czech literature. 1938 died in Prague on February 25th. 197 1 year, during the period of 1920- 1935, many letters he wrote to his fiancee Olga schinpferoukova were edited and published as a book "Letters to Olga".
