Shandong Agricultural University Horticulture College
The College of Horticulture Science and Engineering has a glorious history of running a school, which can be traced back to the Horticulture Department of Shandong University Agricultural College (Qingdao) at 1946 and the Horticulture Department of Shandong Agricultural College (Jinan) at 1947. 1952 after the adjustment of national departments, the horticulture department of Jinling University and the fruit tree group of Nanjing University were placed under Shandong Agricultural College, and a new horticulture department was established, with 65438+.

After more than 60 years of construction and development, the college has developed into a multi-level school-running advantage college with undergraduate education as the mainstay and a certain scale of master's and doctoral education and postdoctoral personnel training. The college now has five departments: fruit science, vegetable science, tea science, ornamental horticulture and horticultural environmental engineering, 1 fruit research institute, 1 horticultural experiment center.

The college has two undergraduate majors: horticulture and facility agriculture science and engineering. Horticulture is a national A++ major from 2002 to 2005, and it is a key construction major in Shandong Province during the Tenth Five-Year Plan. In 2007, it was the second batch of specialty construction in colleges and universities. Horticulture is a first-class doctoral program, covering 7 doctoral programs in two disciplines: fruit tree science, vegetable science, tea science, ornamental gardening, horticultural environmental engineering, facility agriculture science and engineering, and grape and wine science. Horticultural postdoctoral mobile station was rated as the national excellent postdoctoral research mobile station in 2005. Fruit tree science is a national key discipline, fruit tree science and vegetable science are key disciplines in Shandong Province, belonging to the State Key Laboratory of Crop Biology, and the Fruit Tree Biology Laboratory is a key laboratory in Shandong Province. Relying on the college, the National Apple Engineering Technology Research Center, Shandong Apple Engineering Technology Research Center, Shandong Agricultural University Fruit Research Institute and Shandong Agricultural University Facility Horticulture Research Institute were established.

There are 80 faculty members in the college, including academician of China Academy of Engineering 1 person, 2 positions of "Taishan Scholar" in distinguished professor, doctoral supervisor 16, 35 master supervisor, 23 professors and 22 associate professors. The doctoral rate of teaching and research personnel is over 75%, and there are 3 postdoctoral researchers/kloc-0. College teachers have high academic qualifications, strong scientific research strength and high education and teaching level. Among them, there are 2 winners of the teaching prize of Fok Ying Tung Education Fund, 3 winners of the State Council government subsidies, 2 top ten outstanding teachers in Shandong Province, 2 famous teachers in Shandong Province, and young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Shandong Province 1 person. He has won the first and second prizes of Excellent Teaching Quality Award of Shandong Agricultural University for many times, and is one of the top ten outstanding teachers in students' minds. In 2008, horticulture specialty will be built into a "national first-class specialty" and general horticulture will be built into a "national excellent course". The teaching team of horticulture undergraduate major has become a "provincial teaching team", with 2 new national teaching and research topics listed in 4 national planning textbooks, including 2 chief editors and 2 deputy chief editors. At present, the college has more than 200 undergraduates/kloc-0, more than 40 doctoral students, more than 200 master students and more than 70 professional masters.

In the past five years, college teachers have undertaken more than 0/00 projects/kloc, such as national 863 and 973, national natural science foundation, national leap-forward plan, national scientific and technological research, national scientific and technological achievements transformation fund, national 948, national scientific and technological support plan and international cooperation projects, as well as Shandong Science and Technology Department, Education Department and Shandong Natural Science Foundation. Editor-in-Chief and Editor-in-Chief 10, more than national textbooks and 2 1 century series textbooks, achieved 4 national teaching achievements and 6 provincial teaching achievements, won the national and provincial scientific and technological progress award 17, published more than 800 academic papers, and included more than 70 in SCI. The transformation of achievements has created nearly 30 billion yuan of social and economic benefits and made great contributions to the development of horticulture industry in Shandong and even the whole country.

The experimental center of the college has excellent instruments and equipment. With the help of key disciplines in the Eighth Five-Year Plan and the Ninth Five-Year Plan, key construction in the Tenth Five-Year Plan, post-doctoral mobile station construction, provincial construction and the Ministry of Finance, a large number of internationally advanced instruments and equipment were purchased, with a total value of16.2 million yuan, and the value of large precision instruments and equipment was more than 8.6 million yuan. Advanced instruments and equipment provide material support for teachers, doctors and graduate students to complete high-level research work. The Horticultural Teaching Experimental Station under the College covers an area of 1.40 mu, with modern greenhouses, greenhouses, solar greenhouses and other facilities, and more than 300 precious varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and tea, which provide a lot of materials and convenient conditions for students' study, research and teachers' scientific research.

The College has established long-term cooperative relations with the Agricultural College of Kentucky University, Cornell University, University of Wisconsin, Chiba University in Japan, Osaka Prefecture University in Japan, Shizuoka University, Angel Agricultural College in France, Potato Research Center of the Canadian Ministry of Agriculture, Seoul University in Korea, Zhougong University and Gyeongsang University in Korea, creating a good platform for further strengthening academic exchanges and personnel training, improving research level and talent quality, and promoting sound and rapid development of horticulture.
