The Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University has the strongest spinal surgery in China, is one of the earliest reproductive medical centers in Chinese mainland and the largest in Asia, and is also the place where the first test-tube baby was born in Chinese mainland. The Institute of Sports Medicine is the earliest established center in China, and it is also the only athlete injury prevention center designated by the Chinese Olympic Committee. Ophthalmology is at the leading level in China in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular trauma and difficult and severe ophthalmology; Gastroenterology is at the forefront in the research and treatment of the pathogenesis of peptic ulcer and the diagnosis and treatment of early gastric cancer in China. Cardiovascular medicine ranks first-class in China in interventional therapy of coronary heart disease, "green channel" of acute myocardial infarction, and coordinated development of clinic and foundation.
