Beijing Technology and Business University hired teachers and students as judges to participate in the interview.
Junior students interview teacher candidates together with the dean and professor of the college, and cast one vote respectively, which has the same effect. Recently, Beijing Technology and Business University openly recruited 70 teachers and administrators for the first time, and invited college students' representatives as judges to participate in the two most important recruitment links: interview and trial presentation. Doctors participating in interviews and trial lectures are judged and graded by sophomores and juniors, which feels "complicated but fair".

Beijing Technology and Business University plans to recruit about 70 people, most of whom are full-time teachers except a small number of party affairs, teaching assistants and administrative staff. After the recruitment plan was published on the campus network, the school received more than 4,600 resumes. Among the applicants are doctors from all over the country, postdoctoral fellows who are working in postdoctoral workstations, and "returnees" who have returned to Beijing from the United States and Japan to find jobs. After screening, less than 800 people were interviewed.

On February 28th, Wang Yue (pseudonym), a doctoral student at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, who came to attend the interview, was surprised to find that he was faced with not only the dean and professor of the college he applied for, but also a young-looking boy. Afterwards, he learned that this boy is a junior in the college and his name is Zhang.

In this teacher recruitment, Beijing Technology and Business University has set up nine recruitment judging panels, headed by the deans of each college. In addition to the dean, 10 judges are college leaders, professors of related majors, a counselor and a college student. 1 1 judges each have one vote, and they are graded independently by anonymous means. The nine college students' representatives are elected by the college student affairs office and counselors, who represent the students and choose the teachers that the students like.

According to Beijing Technology and Business University, after the trial, 52 applicants for teaching positions entered the final examination stage. The recruitment leading group headed by the school party secretary and principal will review 52 people one by one, and finally announce the candidates for employment. The reporter learned that these 52 people are all doctors or postdocs, and most of them come from universities at home and abroad. The youngest of them is 25 years old and the oldest is 42 years old.

Student judges

The teacher in my mind should be handsome in appearance and cool in academics.

Although I feel a little flattered, Zhang is still very serious as a judge. When the dean of the college asked Wang Yue a question: It took 1 minute to introduce his study and work experience, why he chose the profession of teacher, and what he thought of teaching ..., Zhang looked up at Wang Yue every time he heard a question, never letting go of any of his expressions, actions and words, then lowered his head and wrote it down in a notebook. After Wang Yue's interview, 1 1 When the judges began to grade, it took him a long time to grade, which was much slower than other teachers and judges.

The interview ended on February 28th, and the third step of recruitment will be held on March 1: trial lecture. However, the reporter saw that only about half of the interviewers entered the trial session. In this link, they also have to face the judges who may become their future students.

The trial lecture will be held in the ordinary classroom. The judges sat on the folding chairs under the platform, and the lecturer stood in front of the blackboard, mostly waving the pointer for the first time in his life. The lecture duration is 15 minutes, and the courseware such as topic selection and PPT are also prepared by the lecturer himself in advance. For Judge Zhang, this day can be a little easier. As a student of 15, he has a lot of experience in listening to lectures. In his words, "after listening to 15 minutes, the verdict will be there."

Different from other judges, Zhang not only pays attention to the lecturers' teaching methods and quality, but also pays attention to their image charm. He told reporters that his evaluation criteria mainly depend on whether the lecturer's lectures are clear, whether the teaching attitude is correct, whether the appearance is neat and attractive-the weight of personal charm.

"It's not about their beauty, it's a comprehensive image." He explained, "For example, a good teacher's way of thinking and expression should be able to grasp students and make the classroom infectious. The realm is: handsome appearance and cool academics. " After a day's trial lecture, Zhang got 95 points and gave it to a postdoctoral fellow. "Because his lectures are clear and logical, and his speech is slow, which makes people feel sincere, neat and handsome." His lowest score is 75, "because this person's expression is not clear, his voice is not loud, and he doesn't feel enthusiastic."

Apply for teachers

Just like students take part in the super girl competition when grading.

As a doctor and postdoctoral fellow, what is the experience of being interviewed by a sophomore and a junior? For this question, most candidates' answers to reporters are "a bit complicated". But they also admit that such a team of judges and recruitment methods make people feel transparent, open and fair. "Like super girl's PK, everything is on the stage." A candidate answered the reporter.

The reporter learned that in recent years, with the popularization of higher education in Beijing and the development of colleges and universities, teachers and administrative positions in colleges and universities have become hot items in the workplace, and their attraction even exceeds that of civil servants. This makes the recruitment of any university a competitive stage for doctors, postdocs and returnees.

An applicant from Tsinghua summed up the attraction of college teachers' work like this: "Stability, good welfare, high status, both teaching and scientific research, and you can continue to live in a relatively simple environment on campus without giving up professional study for life."
