Inorganic chemistry is a subject that studies inorganic compounds and an important branch of chemistry. Generally, inorganic compounds refer to compounds without C-H bonds, as opposed to organic compounds, so carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, carbon disulfide, cyanide, thiocyanate, carbonic acid and carbonate all belong to the category of inorganic chemistry research. However, the boundary between the two is not strict, and there is a great overlap, and organometallic chemistry is an example.
