Forestry and Architecture University is an ordinary institution of higher learning in Jilin Province, which focuses on engineering, features civil architecture, and is supported and coordinated by science, engineering, literature, management, law, art and economics. It is a university jointly established by the People's Government of Jilin Province and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the first batch of 100 demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, and a service base for industrial development decision-making consultation and scientific and technological innovation.

Founded in 1956, the school is one of the first ten architectural schools in New China. 1960 with the approval of the State Council, the school was named Jilin Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture and started to hold undergraduate education. 1997 passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the former State Education Commission. In 2003, the school became an authorized unit for master's degree. In 2008, he was evaluated by the Ministry of Education and got "excellent" results.

20 10 School moved from the old campus of Hongqi Street to the new campus of Jingyue. 20 13 was renamed Jilin Jianzhu University. 20 15 passed the examination and evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education. In 20 17, the school was established as a joint university authorized by doctor's degree in Jilin province.

Adhering to an open school, the school has established cooperation and exchange relations with more than 50 universities and scientific research institutions in more than 20 countries and regions, such as the United States, Russia, Australia, South Korea and Singapore, and carried out academic exchanges and scientific research collaboration through the exchange of international students and experts and scholars.
