Sun Yat-sen University was founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen in 1924, and was originally named Guangdong University in 1926. It was renamed Sun Yat-sen University in memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Since its establishment 80 years ago, Mr. Wang's spirit has inspired generations of college students to keep climbing and climbing. Today, Sun Yat-sen University is a well-known comprehensive university in China. The school has four campuses with a total area of 6. 17 square kilometers, which are located on both sides of the Pearl River and the South China Sea. Guangzhou South Campus covers an area of 1. 17 square kilometers, North Campus covers an area of 0.39 square kilometers, Guangzhou East Campus covers an area of 1. 13 square kilometers and Zhuhai Campus covers an area of 3.48 square kilometers.
