This swimming pool is not named after female singer Chen Ming. For the origin of swimming pool, we should start with the late Mr. Chen Ming. He was born in the countryside, poor and illiterate. He works during the day to earn money and studies at night school. But Mr. Chen has always hoped to change his life through education and tried his best to help many primary school students finish their studies. However, due to limited financial capacity, he failed to help these children complete higher education, which is a lifelong regret of Mr. Chen Ming. Mr. Chen Dingshan and Mr. Chen Dingnan are descendants of the late Mr. Chen Minglao. They are Hong Kong entrepreneurs engaged in real estate and construction. They made generous donations to Tsinghua University many times and were hired as honorary principals by Tsinghua University. In memory of the late Mr. Chen Ming, this swimming pool was named Chen Ming Swimming Pool.
