Jilin Jianzhu University, founded in 1956, is one of the first ten architectural schools in New China.

1960 with the approval of the State Council, the school was named Jilin Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture and started to hold undergraduate education.

1997 passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the former State Education Commission.
