In the latest list of "double-class" universities, newly-added universities include: Beihang University, Beijing Institute of Technology, South China University of Technology, tianjin polytechnic university, Northwest A&F University, Northeast Normal University, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, Nanjing Forestry University, Jiangsu University, Zhejiang University of Technology, Anhui University, Hefei University of Technology, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Henan Agricultural University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Hunan Agricultural University and Guangxi University.
"Double First-class" is the construction plan of "World-class Universities and First-class Disciplines" proposed by China Municipal Government, which aims to push a number of universities and disciplines into or close to the world-class ranks through continuous efforts and key support.
These newly-built universities are distributed all over the country, covering many disciplines such as engineering, science, agriculture, medicine, literature, law, economics and management, which reflects the concern and support of the China government for the balanced development of higher education.
The selection of these universities is not only the recognition of their teaching and scientific research achievements, but also the expectation of their future development. In the future construction process, these universities will get more policy support and resource input, in order to make greater breakthroughs and development in their respective fields.
At the same time, it also promoted the overall level of higher education in China. With more and more high-quality universities being brought into the "double first-class" construction, China's higher education will show stronger competitiveness and influence on a global scale.
