Chinese College of Jinan University was founded in 1953, which was established under the personal care of Premier Zhou Enlai. The Chinese Language Institute is a window that embodies the characteristics of Jinan University as "the highest institution for overseas Chinese". It is one of the earliest departments in China to offer Chinese as a foreign language.
