The new campus of Central South University is located in Yuelu Street, bordering Xiangjiang River in the east, Second Ring Road in the south, Zhongda South Campus in the north and Headquarters in the west. The main school gate is located on Xiaoxiang Avenue, and all the campuses in Hexi area of Zhong Da University are connected, which completely changed the situation of traffic jam, inconvenient access and long-term traffic jam outside the school gate, which affected the image of the school and Yuelu District, and even the international image of China. Before the formation, approval and confirmation, the planning of the new campus has passed international bidding and dozens of revisions. Campus planning fully considers the engineering characteristics of the school and conforms to the principle of "ecological yuelu, harmonious campus".

The new campus has a total construction scale of more than 600,000 square meters, and 38 major projects are comprehensive teaching buildings with a construction area of 6,500 square meters, which will be the main teaching area of Central South University in the future. A gymnasium of13,000 square meters will be built on campus to cultivate students' all-round development in morality, intelligence and physical fitness. A warm and quiet library of 6,500 square meters is an ideal place for students to study and study. The new campus will build a comprehensive experimental building with a building area of 13000 square meters, where many scientific research achievements will be produced and applied to the development and construction of the country. Jinjiang Road and Qingshui Road, the main roads of the campus, are built by the municipal government, with a construction area of10.5 million square meters, which is a resort for students and the general public to exercise and study.

The green area of the new campus is 35%, and the supporting facilities are fully functional. The Yuelu District Government plans to join hands with the University Logistics Group of Central South University to improve the university logistics services, increase new opportunities for local landless farmers to start businesses, and form a good situation of "harmonious villages and schools and good services".

Third, the progress of the new campus construction

1. Stadium: 80% of the main body has been completed. It is expected to be completed by the end of the year and put into use in 2008.

The construction of the new campus is inseparable from the cooperation and support of the local government.
