3.2 Motor vehicle registration number

According to the different types of motor vehicle license plates, motor vehicle registration numbers include Chinese abbreviations of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, codes of license issuing organs expressed in English letters, serial numbers composed of Arabic numerals and English letters, and Chinese abbreviations of license plate classification used by special motor vehicles.

There are three coding rules for serial numbers, namely:
