Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, located in Changsha, Hunan Province, is a key undergraduate college in Hunan Province. It is the first university to recruit doctoral students, international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. The national "excellent doctor (Chinese medicine) education and training plan" reform pilot university, and the "domestic first-class construction university" school in Hunan Province was founded in 1934 and named Hunan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 1960 was transformed into Hunan college of traditional Chinese medicine, and 1979 became the first batch of institutions in China to obtain the qualification of postgraduate education in traditional Chinese medicine.
