Gansu Vocational College of Animal Husbandry Engineering is located in Wuwei City, Gansu Province. Approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Education established a public full-time general higher vocational college in June 2004, which is affiliated to the Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department of Gansu Province.

Its predecessor can be traced back to1Gansu Animal Husbandry School established in September 1952 and Gansu Agricultural Mechanization School established in 1958.

In June 2004, the two schools merged to form Gansu Vocational and Technical College of Animal Husbandry Engineering, and in 2009 it was handed over to the Education Department of Gansu Province for management. On July 20 10, the college was recognized as "Model Higher Vocational College in Gansu Province" by the Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Department of Finance.

College covers an area of 2200 mu, including 800 mu of campus, practice farm 1.400 mu and construction area of 200,000 square meters.
