Huali College of Guangdong University of Technology became the second-level college of Guangdong University of Technology in April, 20001. In April, 2004, with the bid of Guangdong University of Technology and the approval of the Ministry of Education, it became the first batch of independent undergraduate colleges in Guangdong Province.
