University of Science and Technology Beijing (hereinafter referred to as University of Science and Technology Beijing? ), founded in 1952, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), a university jointly established by the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the Ministry of Education, and a world-class discipline construction university with the advantages of 2 1 1 project and 985 project. Formerly known as Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel, it was renamed as 1988.

This school is the first batch of "three-round education" comprehensive reform pilot universities of the Ministry of Education and the first batch of demonstration universities in Beijing to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. 1952 Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel was established by some departments of Tianjin University, Tsinghua University, Tangshan Railway Institute, Shanxi University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University and other universities. 1960, renamed Beijing Institute of Iron and Steel.
