Henan University of Technology was founded in 1956. It belongs to the Ministry of Food, the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Domestic Trade. It is a university founded by Henan Provincial People's Government and State Grain and Material Reserve Bureau. Undergraduate education begins at 1959, postgraduate education begins at 198 1, doctoral education begins at 20 13, postgraduate exemption qualification is granted at 20 17, and doctoral degree is granted at 20 18.

The school 1998 was placed under the management of Henan Province, and the People's Government of Henan Province signed a contract with the State Grain Bureau on 20 10. In 2020, he was selected as a key characteristic university in Henan Province; 202 1 was selected as the action plan of establishing "double first-class" colleges and universities in Henan Province.

After several generations' efforts, the school has developed into a multidisciplinary university focusing on engineering, covering the coordinated development of science, economics, management, law, literature, art and agriculture, with a complete three-level talent training system for bachelor, master and doctor.
