Nanchang University, referred to as "Changda", is located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, China. It is a well-known comprehensive university with the infiltration of literature, science, technology and medicine, and the combination of learning, research, production and application. It is a key university of 2 1 1 project, a public graduate program of national construction of high-level universities, a key construction institution of "comprehensive strength improvement project of central and western universities", and the first batch of "excellent engineer education and training plan" of the Ministry of Education. National University Science Park of Nanchang University, which is a pilot university of "Excellent Doctoral Education and Training Program" and has the first batch of eleven undergraduate practice bases for scientific and technological entrepreneurship, participated in the establishment of "Midwest University Alliance".

The school started in Jiangxi Public Medical College founded by 192 1 and National Chung Cheng University founded by 1940. 1993, Jiangxi University and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology merged to form Nanchang University. 1997, the school was listed as the national "2 1 1 project" key construction university. In 2004, the Ministry of Education signed an agreement with the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government to establish Nanchang University. In 2005, Nanchang University merged with Jiangxi Medical College to form the new Nanchang University.

As of March 20 14, the school has five campuses, Qianhu, Qingshan Lake, Donghu, Poyang Lake and Fuzhou, covering an area of more than 8,000 mu. There are 10 basic experimental centers, 46 professional laboratories and 2 17 practice bases inside and outside the school. More than 20 scholarships have been established. There are 72,466 full-time undergraduates (including 37,858 undergraduates), 8,363 graduate students and 664 international students.
