Xiamen University Art College was founded in 1983, and 1984 began to recruit undergraduates. 1987 was approved to set up two master's degree awarding points in musicology and fine arts; In 2003, it approved the establishment of a master's degree awarding point in art and design; In 2005, the establishment of Master of Arts (MFA) degree awarding point was approved.
