Chengdu Radio and TV University was founded in 1979. It is a provincial radio and television university approved by the Ministry of Education. It is an independent public institution of higher learning. Administratively, it is led by the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, managed by the education administrative department, and its teaching business is guided by the Central Radio and TV University.
