Suzhou University of Science and Technology has three campuses.

Suzhou University of Science and Technology, located in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is a university founded by the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It has been selected into the Education and Training Program for Outstanding Engineers of the Ministry of Education and the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program.

The national college students' cultural quality education base, the national college students' scientific and technological entrepreneurship practice base, the first batch of universities undertaking foreign aid master's education projects in China, and the project construction unit awarded doctoral degrees in Jiangsu Province are members of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance and G60 Science and Technology Corridor in the Yangtze River Delta.

Suzhou Institute of Science and Technology, the predecessor of the school, was formed by the merger of Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection and Suzhou Railway Teachers College, and was established in September 20001year. The former Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection was established in 1983 directly under the Ministry of Construction (the former Suzhou Institute of Architecture and Engineering was established in 1953). The former Suzhou Railway Teachers College is a public institution directly under the Ministry of Railways.

Founded in 1980 (Suzhou Railway Middle School was founded in 195 1). In 2000, the subordinate relationship between the two schools was placed under Jiangsu Province at the same time, and the school management system of "combining the central and local governments and giving priority to local management" was implemented. On March 20 16, the school was renamed Suzhou University of Science and Technology.
