Hefei University is a local undergraduate college that was born in reform, grew up in opening up and developed in innovation. Its predecessor was Hefei Union University, which was founded in 1980. At the beginning of the school, the school-running model of "appropriate fees, no distribution, setting majors according to social needs and socialization of logistics" was put forward, which aroused widespread concern in society.
In March 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the former Hefei Union University, Hefei Education College and Hefei Normal College merged to form Hefei College.
