Southwest University of Science and Technology is a university, not 985 or 2 1 1. It is a university jointly founded by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education, and jointly founded by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense.
1, college construction. Southwest University of Science and Technology 1939 originated from Southwest Institute of Technology. It was formally merged in 2000, and in 20001year, it became one of the 14 western universities under national key construction, and signed a counterpart support agreement with the Chinese University of Science and Technology.
At present, the school has been selected into the basic capacity building project of colleges and universities in the central and western regions, the education and training plan of outstanding engineers of the Ministry of Education, and the national new engineering research and practice project.
2. Discipline construction. Southwest University of Science and Technology has 22 first-class master programs, 4 first-class doctoral programs, 1 postdoctoral research mobile station, 1 national basic disciplines,1/provincial key disciplines, and 2 "double-class" construction disciplines (groups) in Sichuan Province. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation, there are 1 disciplines selected in Class B and 4 disciplines selected in Class C. In addition, there are three disciplines in the school that have entered the top of the world ESI ranking 1%.
3. The location of the school. Southwest University of Science and Technology is located in China Science and Technology City-Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. The school is jointly established by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education, and jointly established by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and the National Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. It was identified as one of the western 14 universities by the Ministry of Education.
