School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tianjin University was established in February, 2000 1,1,and now it has three teaching units: Department of Environmental Engineering, Department of Building Environment and Equipment Engineering, and Department of Environmental Science and Ecology. Among them, the Department of Environmental Engineering, formerly known as the specialty of water supply and drainage and industrial wastewater treatment (hereinafter referred to as "water supply and drainage specialty"), is one of the "old eight schools" of water supply and drainage specialty in China; The Department of Building Environment and Equipment Engineering, formerly known as the specialty of heating, gas supply and ventilation, is one of the "old eight schools" of HVAC specialty in China.

There are 1 undergraduate teaching center laboratories, 8 provincial key laboratories and engineering centers, 1 national international cooperation bases and 5 Tianjin international cooperation bases. The college has always adhered to the interdisciplinary development layout. The existing three undergraduate majors have all entered the national first-class undergraduate major construction site, 10 master's degree and doctoral degree programs all cover two disciplines,/kloc-0 doctoral degree program in resources and environmental engineering, and/kloc-0 postdoctoral mobile station in environmental science and engineering. The first-level discipline of environmental science and engineering passed the international peer review and the evaluation of the mid-term discipline evaluation group of "double first-class" construction, and ranked A- in the fourth round of first-level discipline evaluation of the Ministry of Education.
