There are two universities in Huainan, namely Anhui University of Science and Technology and Huainan Teachers College. Anhui University of Science and Technology is a university jointly established by Anhui Province and the Emergency Management Department. The revitalization plan of higher education in Anhui Province is a "high-level university with local characteristics", and the construction plan of key disciplines in Anhui Province particularly supports universities. Huainan Normal University is a full-time undergraduate college in Anhui Province. The school has successively won the honorary titles of "National Model School of Language Standardization", "Civilized Unit of Anhui Province" and "Provincial Social Work Professional Training Base".
