Xiquan academy

( 1789- 1929)

The predecessor of our school is Xiquan Academy, which is located in Liantan Town, Yunan County. Xiquan Academy was founded in 1789, and was donated by local people such as Fu and Fu Youxian, and funded by the county magistrate Shen Baoshan. 1825, local Qiu and Zhang Shuxun, inspector of Jin Kang Department of Luoding Prefecture, donated 3,620 taels of silver and 0/60 mu of land to run the school, which enabled Xiquan Academy to continue.

Guangdong Li Xiquan Agricultural School

( 1935- 1949)

1935 due to the shortage of junior agricultural technicians, the local reimbursement income decreased and the school funds were scarce. Xie Guisheng, Ye Zhanqiu, Xie, Qiu and Qiu Yuekai from Yunnan Province and Ye Weidong, Yu, Chen from Yunfu City jointly wrote a letter requesting the establishment of Guangdong Province. Approved by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education at that time, the school was changed to "Guangdong Li Xiquan Agricultural School".
