From 65438 to 0952, the department of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou was divided into four universities-Zhejiang University, Hangzhou University, Zhejiang Agricultural University and Zhejiang Medical University. 1998 before the merger of the four schools, the old Zhejiang university was 985, and Hangzhou university, Zhejiang agriculture and Zhejiang medical college were all 2 1 1.
Zhejiang University, founded in 1897, is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. It is a comprehensive national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the central government. It was once known as "Oriental Cambridge" and ranked among "2 1 1 Project", "985 Project" and "Double Class".
This university has been selected into the Everest Plan, the 20 1 1 Plan, the academic innovation and intelligence introduction plan of colleges and universities, the education and training plan for outstanding engineers, the education and training plan for outstanding legal talents, the education and training plan for outstanding agricultural and forestry talents, and the national public graduate program for building high-level universities. It is the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
The predecessor of Zhejiang University was Qiushi Academy founded by 1897. After Qiushi University Hall, Zhejiang Higher Education College, National Third Sun Yat-sen University, Zhejiang University in the Republic of China and National Zhejiang University, it was renamed as Zhejiang University on 1950.
