Introduction to Wuhan University The history of Wuhan University can be traced back to 1893. Governor Zhang Zhidong of Huguang invited the Qing government to establish a school for self-improvement. After inheritance and evolution, it was named National Wuhan University in 1928, which was the first batch of national universities in modern China. From 65438 to 0946, the school formed six colleges: arts, law, science, engineering, agriculture and medicine.
After the founding of New China, Wuhan University was highly valued by the Party and the government. 1958, President Mao Zedong visited Wuhan University. 1993, on the occasion of the centenary of Wuhan University, Jiang Zemin and other party and state leaders wrote an inscription to congratulate.
