Xiamen University of Science and Technology is a junior college. Xiamen University of Science and Technology is a full-time institution of higher learning approved by Fujian Provincial Department of Education. The college is market-oriented and service-oriented, and adheres to the school-running philosophy of "being responsible for students, reassuring parents and satisfying the government and society", realizing the close connection between college education and social employment, and cultivating a large number of talents for the country (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). With teaching as the center, students as the basis, and management as the focus, the School of Extended Information consists of four colleges: School of Management Engineering, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Art Design and College of Continuing Education, and seven departments: Information Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Economics and Trade, Foreign Languages Department, Tourism Department, Law Department and Architecture Department, with nearly 60 undergraduate and specialist majors and nearly 5,000 students.

The college has two campuses, Siming and Jimei, with superior geographical location and beautiful campus environment. It is a science and education park integrating science and technology, ecology, humanities and natural landscape, and it is the largest training base college in the province.
