The way of university is to be moral, to be close to the people and to stop at perfection.
interpret
This article in the university is very direct. All the questions are pointed out in the first sentence, and all the explanations behind are actually gradually explaining these four sentences.
The first word can be understood as understanding, knowing or just understanding. We can understand that this word is for us to practice hard and experience ourselves well, which means that this word is the kung fu of self-cultivation and cultivation. The word "post-mingde" can be understood as a virtue of distinguishing right from wrong, or an obvious virtue.
From the perspective of enlightenment and meditation, in fact, Mingde, that is, what we originally have, can understand the true colors of all laws in the world. So this sentence can be understood as: let's do our own self-denial and practice kung fu, so as to show our true colors. In Confucianism, it can be called fatigue; In Taoism, it is called cultivating truth and nature; In Buddhism, this is called seeing nature with a clear mind. In terms of Buddhism, it is to understand one's true nature by listening to Buddhism and receiving scriptures.
Being close to the people, writing traditional Chinese characters means being close to the people, and the affinity is new and similar. Therefore, all previous dynasties have interpreted new words. After reading them, the words are new and new, and this relationship should be new words. Xinmin means to make people look brand-new, that is, to make people realize a brand-new self, that is, to turn over a new leaf.
It can be seen that both ancient sages and buddhas and bodhisattvas should start from correcting their mistakes, so in a word, the method of practice is to change. However, this is the solution of new people, and we might as well make a solution by being close to the people, which is more attractive. Be close to the people, love and respect the people, so as to better understand the artistic conception of Buddhism that all beings are the same. Therefore, being close to the people should be understood as an act of treating all beings as a teacher and a quantity.
Stop, here we can't simply understand to stop somewhere. In ancient times, stop means to have peace of mind, that is, to put peace of mind here, to be happy here, and not to change, so this is not what a stop can express. At this point, it is similar to the willingness and rigor of Buddhism to keep the precepts and never die. From this point of view, the ancient sages' statements were so rigorous and ingenious that the words were thrown into a world of difference. At the end of my life, I learned how not to learn from sages. If I can always pay attention to my words and deeds, so as not to have a negative impact on future generations, I will certainly make progress in virtue and achieve deeper achievements.
The supreme good, we should not interpret it as the supreme good or perfect good, it is the purest and most primitive good here, and it should also be understood as the good at the beginning of life in the sacred amethyst, which is a pure good without the contrast between good and evil, that is, the simple state that Laozi said. This is absolute good, not good compared with evil. And this kind of perfection is also seen from both self-nature and sentient beings. Self-cultivation should strive to achieve the most perfect state, while guiding all living beings should also make all living beings achieve the most perfect state. This is precisely the state of self-awareness, other people's awareness, complete awareness and Buddha's three senses, which should not be underestimated.
The first sixteen words are really enlightening and refreshing to read carefully. The more you think about it, the more unforgettable it becomes. This is really a theory that all the works of ancient sages should not be taken lightly. First, you should not praise the sacred land. Second, you should not take the sacred wisdom away from the secular feelings. Those who can't satisfy the wishes of the ancient sages all their lives are mostly guilty of these two diseases.
The word 16 alone has become the supreme significance of our self-cultivation and guiding all beings. I call it "teaching without words", the original meaning of Buddhism's teaching by words, one is to keep it hard, the other is to set an example and teach all beings. Although each family is slightly different, it is our motto to be honest and not leave all beings behind. If we put this into practice in our daily life and study, and think about the teachings of the sages in Ming Ming De, we will naturally understand the direction we should strive for, and we will not be confused. Thinking about the doctrine of being close to the people, naturally treating all beings as one, is all about it; If you want to stop at the best teaching, you will naturally be willing to work harder and dare not slack off.
