Undergraduate major in computer science and technology. The School of Applied Technology of Beijing Information Science and Technology University was established in July 2009. It is composed of two majors, namely, the former Mathematics and Computer Teaching Department and the computer application technology and numerical control technology in higher vocational colleges, and undertakes the undergraduate major of computer science and technology and the teaching of computer and mathematics in the whole school. Beijing Information Science and Technology University was formed by the merger of Beijing Institute of Mechanical Technology, which was affiliated to the former Ministry of Machinery, and Beijing Institute of Information Engineering, which was affiliated to the former Ministry of Electronics. It is an industry-oriented university.
