At present, there are many doctoral authorization units in China, but there are not many universities that officially authorize doctoral degrees. According to incomplete statistics, there are currently three doctoral universities in China:

1. China University of Science and Technology. Formerly known as the Graduate School of China Academy of Sciences, it is the first independent doctoral degree authorization institution in China and a research university with distinctive characteristics.

2. China Renmin University. It is also a doctoral authorized unit with strong social science characteristics and one of the important comprehensive universities in China.

3. Beijing Normal University. It is a university directly under the Ministry of Education of China and supported by the national "2 1 1 Project" and "985 Project". It is a comprehensive university in China and one of the oldest universities in China.

The above three universities are all important representatives in the field of higher education in China and an important part of education in China.
