Introduction of works

Seishi Yokomizo's creative works are amazing, such as Prison Gate Island, Eight Tombs Village, and The Devil's Handball Song (The Devil's Color Ball Song), all of which are well-known masterpieces. Among them, Prison Gate Island is a recognized classic in the history of Japanese mystery literature. His postwar masterpiece Killing in this Array, with detective Jin Tianyi as the protagonist, was an overwhelming success and became the source of the revival of Japanese postwar detective novels. Later, he wrote a series of mystery novels, including 77 long and short stories, with Jin Tianyi as the protagonist. In the novel, the main stage of detective Jin Tianyi's public agency activities is Tokyo and its surrounding areas, as well as Okayama Prefecture, where the author's works are full of horror rumors. The former shows the decadence and metamorphosis of postwar cities, while the latter focuses on the countryside and blood relationship. The general reader has a higher evaluation of the latter. Jin Tianyi Kosuke became one of the three famous detectives in Japanese suspense history because of the author's brilliant pen. The following is the Chinese translation of Yokogawa's works:
