Students majoring in nuclear engineering and technology mainly study the basic theory of engineering thermophysics, nuclear engineering and nuclear technology, receive training in nuclear engineering and nuclear technology, and have the basic ability to engage in experimental research, design, construction and operation management of nuclear engineering and nuclear technology.

The main courses include engineering mechanics, mechanical design basis, electrician and electronic technology, engineering thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, control theory, testing technology, nuclear physics, nuclear reactors, nuclear and thermal power plants, thermal equipment and so on.

It should be noted that Tsinghua University's nuclear engineering and technology are aimed at civilian nuclear energy, not military weapons.
