According to Baidu Encyclopedia, Guizhou Medical University is a key university in Guizhou Province and one of the earliest medical colleges in Guizhou Province. The school, formerly known as Guiyang National Medical College, was established in 1938. At that time, it was one of the first nine medical schools directly under the Ministry of Education. At present, the school has two campuses, covering an area of 1800 mu, with strong teachers and advanced teaching facilities, which have made important contributions to the medical and health undertakings in Guizhou Province and the whole country.
Guizhou Medical University, referred to as Gui Medical University for short, is a national-level university that implements the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Colleges and Universities in the Midwest", a key university in Guizhou Province, a medical doctor degree awarding unit in Guizhou Province, and a pilot university of the "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Plan".
