How many levels are there in college English test?
Apart from English majors, College English Test is divided into Band 4 and Band 6. English major exams are divided into Band 4 and Band 8.

According to the two college English syllabuses used by science and engineering undergraduates and liberal arts undergraduates, the college English test is divided into four levels and six levels, which are organized and implemented by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education (formerly the State Education Commission). Those who pass the exam will get the certificate of CET-4 or CET-6.

As a national teaching test, CET-4 and CET-6 are organized and implemented by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and held twice a year. The National College English Test Committee for Band 4 and Band 6 is appointed by the Ministry of Education. The Examination Committee is composed of professors and experts from several key universities in China, with two consultants, one chairman, several vice-chairmen, several members of professional committees and several members of advisory committees. The National College English Test Committee (CET-4 and CET-6) is responsible for the college English test academically and organizationally. Part of the examination work is undertaken by the examination center of the Ministry of Education.

Registration conditions (1) are limited to undergraduates or graduate students who have completed CET-4 in four-year colleges or universities or have completed CET-4 according to the syllabus;

(2) College students or graduate students with the same academic ability can sign up for the exam in our school with the consent of their school;

(3) Students of the same level of night university or correspondence university can sign up for the examination in our school with the consent of their school;

Starting from the examination on June 5438+ 10, 2007, the CET-4 and CET-6 will no longer be open to social candidates, but only to college students.

The registration method is voluntary participation and collective registration with the school as the unit; If candidates practice in other places on the day of the exam, they should still register at their school;

Registration will not be accepted after the registration deadline.

English major examination is an undergraduate teaching examination to test the implementation of English major syllabus. "The task of English teaching for senior English majors in colleges and universities is to continue to lay a good language foundation and further expand their knowledge. The key point is to cultivate comprehensive English skills, enrich cultural knowledge and improve communication skills.

English Band 4 (1) is a sophomore majoring in English in colleges and universities registered or approved by the Ministry of Education.

(2) College students who have completed the courses stipulated in the syllabus for the basic stage of English major in colleges and universities for the record or approval by the Ministry of Education.

(3) English majors with academic qualifications registered or approved by the Ministry of Education for four-year full-time study in adult higher education colleges (second academic year); Five-year program refers to the undergraduate students who have completed the courses specified in the syllabus of the basic stage of English major (the third academic year) and have not studied full-time. Part-time three-year college students must register for CET-4 in the third academic year.

(4) In key foreign language colleges, non-English majors can take CET-6, and their scores are above 60 in that year.

(5) Candidates who take CET-4 only have one make-up exam.

English Band 8 (1) is a fourth-year undergraduate English major registered or approved by the Ministry of Education.

(2) English majors who have completed four years of full-time study in adult higher education institutions approved by the Ministry of Education (the fourth academic year); Five-year system refers to undergraduates who study English part-time (fifth academic year).

(3) Candidates who take the TEM-8 exam only have one make-up exam.

Candidates who fail the unified examination in the basic stage (TEM4) can also take the unified examination in the advanced stage (TEM8).

English majors are not allowed to take the unified examination for English majors at the basic stage (TEM4) because they have exceeded the examination period stipulated in the unified examination for English majors at the basic stage (TEM4), but they can take the unified examination for advanced stage (TEM8) in the last semester of English majors' study. For various reasons, candidates who did not take the TEM-4 (fourth semester) or Grade 8 (eighth semester) unified examination within the prescribed examination period may not take the TEM-4 or Grade 8 unified examination in the name of make-up examination.
