Qian Chengdan, male, Han nationality, was born in 1949, Jintan, Jiangsu.

He studied in the senior high school affiliated to Nanjing Normal University, one of the four famous universities in Jiangsu Province, and was admitted to the English Department of Nanjing University. 1985 After receiving his Ph.D. from the History Department of Nanjing University, he went to Harvard University and Edinburgh University as a postdoctoral fellow. At present, he is a professor of Peking University History Department, a doctoral supervisor, a member of the history discipline group of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, a member of the expert evaluation group of the National Social Science Fund, a member of the Social Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, the president of the British History Research Association in China, a correspondent of the Royal Historical Society, and an adjunct professor of the history department of the University of Macau. June, 2003165438+1October gave a special lecture on the development history of major countries in the world since the 5th century with Professor Qi in the Political Bureau of the Central Committee.
