90-year-old man witnesses the past

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the school, the teachers of English College and Mr. Wang were entrusted by the school to interview the senior professors of the school. Professor Zhang Peiji, who is nearly 90 years old, has clear thinking and clear organization, and still remembers the past vividly.

When Professor Zhang Peiji entered university of international business and economics as a military professional cadre, he encountered many troubles, and he needed to adapt to the differences in teaching management between military colleges and local colleges. This impressed his first batch of graduate students particularly. He still remembers their names and keeps in touch with some of them. Professor Zhang is mainly responsible for the teaching of graduate students in school, teaching translation, correspondence and other courses, and all the textbooks used are written by him, which can be described as "a great contribution" to the teaching resources of English College.

Professor Zhang has repeatedly emphasized the characteristics, advantages and importance of English teaching in university of international business and economics, and attached great importance to strengthening students' basic language training. In order to adapt to the new changes of the times, Professor Zhang Peiji constantly enriched himself and improved his personal level. After the reform and opening up, Professor Zhang Peiji visited many universities in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands and Japan as a visiting scholar.

When talking about the hardware construction of the school, Professor Zhang Peiji kept praising the school, especially the new library building. "Few universities have such a good library!" Professor Zhang's kind eyes are deeply gratified and happy. "The problem still exists." Considering the long-term development of higher education, Professor Zhang expressed his worries. "At present, the university is expanding its enrollment, and the class size is about one-third more than when he was there. Will this affect the quality of foreign language teaching? " It is rare for a person who is over eighty to maintain a sincere heart for education and university while supporting his life.

Professor Zhang Peiji's School of Information will pay more attention to English teaching in the future. There is reason to believe that the development of the school will, as Professor Zhang Peiji said, "become a real institution of higher learning."
